What can Coach Dawn do for me?
How Coach Dawn reviews your games, explains positions, and helps you train deliberately on Endgame Society.
Coach Dawn is your built-in chess coach. Unlike a generic chatbot, Dawn reads the position in front of you, sees your move history, and gives feedback that's specific to your games.
On the replay page of any finished game, the Coach panel lets you ask things like:
- "Where did I go wrong?" - "What was my best plan in the middlegame?" - "Was 18.Nxd5 actually a blunder, or did I miss something?"
Dawn answers using the engine evaluation plus your actual move history.
In the Analysis tool, set up any position (paste a FEN, import a PGN, or play through one of your games) and ask Dawn about it. Useful for studying an opening line or a famous game.
Open Coach Dawn for free-form chess conversation. Ask about openings, endgame patterns, planning, or anything else.
- Explaining why a move is good or bad in plain language. - Suggesting plans based on the pawn structure. - Tactical patterns — pins, forks, skewers, mating nets. - Opening principles and what each move is trying to achieve. - Endgame fundamentals — opposition, key squares, basic mates.
What Coach Dawn can't (and shouldn't) do
- Memorize every game you've ever played — bring the specific game you want to discuss. - Predict an exact opponent's next move. - Replace deliberate practice — Coach explains, you still have to do the reps.
