How do I join a tournament?

Step-by-step: how to join arena and scheduled tournaments on Endgame Society, how pairings and scoring work.

Tournaments are scheduled events where members play a series of rated games and compete for the top of the leaderboard. Most Endgame Society tournaments run on the Swiss or arena format: you play a fixed number of games (or as many as you can inside a time window), and the software takes care of pairing you against opponents close to your score.

Entry is free for anyone with an account, but you do need to register in advance so we know how many boards to prepare. Once you register, the tournament page is your home base — it will show your pairings when they're issued, your live standing, and links to your completed games for review afterwards. Nothing installs; every game runs in the browser tab you already have open.

1. Open Tournaments. 2. Browse the list — upcoming events show start time, time control, and prize/recognition. 3. Tap a tournament to see full details.

1. On the tournament page, tap Register . 2. You're added to the participant list and locked in for the start time. 3. You'll get a notification a few minutes before the tournament begins.

- When the tournament starts, the platform automatically pairs you with an opponent. - After your game ends, you're paired again within a minute or two. - Keep the tab open or be ready to come back when a notification fires. - The leaderboard updates live as games finish.

- Win : 1 point - Draw : ½ point - Loss : 0 points

Final standings are decided by total points, with tiebreaks based on opponent strength.
